A study reviewing the mechanics and effectiveness of balloon sinuplasty found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK546671\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">symptom improvement in 85% of patients<\/a> after the first week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedure involves using a balloon to unblock your sinuses and may be done in an operating room or medical office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spartanburgent.com\/allergy-sinus\/sinus\/balloon-sinuplasty\/\">balloon sinuplasty<\/a> procedures follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>The provider will put a topical decongestant in your nose to help control any bleeding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A local anesthetic will be injected into the tissue of your nose. Operating rooms may also use anesthesia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The balloon will be inserted into the nose with a catheter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The balloon will inflate to unblock the sinuses.
