Ear infections<\/a> are extremely common. In fact, according to an article<\/a> published in JAMA Pediatrics Patient Page <\/em>in 2020, \u201cAbout 50% of all children will have at least 1 ear infection by the time they reach their second birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many cases, an ENT (ear, nose and throat) physician will take a wait-and-see approach when it comes to ear infections. If this is the case for your child, you can do the following to care for them until the infection clears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can manage your child\u2019s pain and fever with over-the-counter medications. Which one you give and what dose depends on your child\u2019s age and weight, and you should always consult their pediatrician before administering any medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
